Did Gandhi go to hell?

If you have to accept christ to go to heaven does this mean Gandhi, despite being such a good man goes to hell? how about buddhist monks who dont even so much as kill an insect.. why is picking the wrong book justification for eternal pain but being a good or bad man means nothing in the eyes of god as a serial killer could go to heaven just because of a prayer.. how are christians so certain god is good and not just as capable of mistakes as us.. after all we are made in his image.. we have nothing to go off but his own word.. and seriously isnt his word about himself a little biased?
