Christians: Whenever you try to convert someone,why do you assume this......?

Although I don't convert anyone, the holy spirit does that, the Bible contains the teachings of Christ, so in order to be a Christian, it would be very basic to know it's contents. If you don't believe it, fine, your choice, but to a Christian, it is kind of fundamental to core beliefs so to expect someone to talk about Christ and not mention the primary text regarding his life and teachings is kind of unrealistic.
