What are the major differences between the different Buddhist 'factions'?

Like Christianity their are many Buddhist factions, zen is especially the most difficult to learn I think. All believe in the The Three Noble truths and the five precepts. They believe in re-incarnation until you reach enlightenment from which you go to Nirvana. It has a kind and peaceful belief system.
