Buddha predicted the birth of jesus?

i read an article about an ancient cambodian scripture that said buddha described what the chosen one would look like and his purpose 500 years before his birth. it basically said that mankind will always sin but there would be a chosen one who will come to inherit all of our sins and show us the light and went on to describe scars on the forehead and the disc shaped indentations on his hands and feet........while my mother who is buddhist knows nothing of jesus and my friend who is jehova's witness knows nothing of buddhism from an outside perspective i believe that could be true. so my question is how do you christians feel about this new found theory? i know some already question the source. according to the article the scripture was translated as accurate as possible. please enlighten me.
